For the Sigma Colony, both philanthropy and community service are important aspects of the Fraternity life. The collective perceives philanthropy as the general expression of altruism towards humanity. An example of such expression would include fundraising and providing support for underprivileged individuals in our own society and in the world. On a slightly different note, the fraternity sees community service as a more localized form of philanthropy. Through community service, the Sigma Colony hopes to provide much needed assistance to various segments of our area.

Both philanthropy and community service are integral to the fraternity experience. Such activities foster such gentlemanly values as altruism, compassion, leadership and self-sacrifice. Therefore, the Sigma Colony plans to continue its strong devotion to philanthropy and community service when it becomes a chapter in May 2010.
